The Princess and the Pink Party

Sprite (a.k.a Princess or Kitty) turned 3 yesterday! Depending on the day and/or her mood she is either Sprite, a Princess or a Kitty. Yesterday she was a Princess.

For months, all she has talked about was having a pink party for her birthday. Not knowing exactly what she had in mind, I did my best to put together a little pink party for her. I bought pink wrapping paper, pink plates and cups, pink balloons, made a pink cake... in hopes that was the pink party she was hoping for. I think I did ok!

Little Miss Manners

Sprite is pretty good about remembering her manners. Today she was in the pool and when she bent over she tooted or "tooped" as she calls it. I said "What do you say?" She looked at me with this big smile on her face and said "Thank you!"

Little Slugger

Sprout started playing baseball this year. He seems to really enjoy it and is actually pretty good at it. He has already received the nickname of "Little Slugger." Maybe he has a little of his Dad in him afterall. Here are some pictures from his first game. They are the Rockies.

Before I was a Mom

Before I was a Mom;
I made and ate hot meals,
I had unstained clothing,
I brushed my hair every day,
I had quiet conversations on the phone,
I slept as late as I wanted and I slept all night long.

Before I was a Mom;
I cleaned my house each day,
I never tripped over toys or forgot lullabies,
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous,
I had never been puked on, pooped on, spit on, chewed on, peed on, or pinched by tiny fingers.

Before I was a Mom;
I never thought about immunizations,
I never held a screaming child so the doctors could give shots,
I never looked into teary eyes and cried,
I never felt my heart break into pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt,
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

Before I was a Mom;
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down,
I never sat up late hours of the night watching a baby sleep,
I never got up in the middle of the night to make sure everything was okay,
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

Before I was a Mom;
I had complete control of my mind, my thoughts and my body,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside of my body,
I didn't know that having something so small could make me feel so important,
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,the wonderment, or the satisfaction of being a mom.

Before I was a Mom;
I never knew that something so small could effect my life so much,
I never knew that I could love someone so much,
I never knew I would love being a Mom,
I didn't know the bond between a Mother and her child,
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much.

I am trying to take pictures of the munchkins every weekend while the Hubs is gone so that I can put them in an album and share them with him when he gets back. This is no easy task as my two seems to get a long as well as fire and ice right now but the last two weekends did result in some really cute pictures, so I thought I'd share.

Yup, you read that correctly...

My son included wenr (weiner) in his parts of a dog- and even drew a picture!!

This is now featured in the school library for all to see!
