- I’m a northern girl who was temporarily transplanted in the deep south, where sushi is still called bait. You’ll notice that my blog is titled after the movie ‘Sweet Home Alabama.’ It combines my love for the movie and the southern colloquialisms therein and the fact that Alabama was Home Sweet Home-when I started this blog! I poke fun at the south and the state of Alabama but it’s all in good fun so don't go gittin yer gussie up-it’s how I coped! I also poke fun at my hometown- it was once in the Guiness Book of World Records for having the most bars per square capita. And no, I did not have my baby in a bar! But it sure was an interesting journey transitioning from career woman to stay-at-home Mommy to two strong-willed young’uns. Most days I didn’t know whether to scratch my watch or wind my butt! Today, we're back in NC where I am once again trying to find the balance between career woman and stay-at-home Mommy. You’re welcome to come along on this crazy journey but just be sure to bring your earplugs and bug nets; my kids are loud and the bugs are fierce. Or is it my kids are fierce and the bugs are loud? ;)

If you look at my (first) Wordless Wednesday you can tell what kind of mood I was in this morning! Two tests, four classes, observation, a trip to the post office, etc, etc and a headache to boot!
The tests went well and I am 1/2 done with classes now so I feel a little better. Oh, and the excedrin has kicked in so ... life is good. Well, better at least!
I love your photos, especially the one of the beautiful sunflower. Love fall colors!

It looks like you found a real live punkin patch! All we have here is a bunch of pumpkins in a church parking lot. Booooring.

My punkins are all rotten now! They look quite pitiful and I really need to move them. My 9yo daughter tried to move one yesterday but the stem broke off! Yours look so pretty!

Hi There. I don't know if Lisa hae emailed you back yet but I wanted to contact you on her behalf, just in case. She's been sick since Friday and hasn't even replied to any of my emails (we're good friends). My hubby talked to her hubby yesterday and said he thinks she has the flu. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that she is around and I would hate for her to miss out on your giveaway because she didn't contact you in time. I'm going to be calling her on Monday to check up on her so if you haven't heard from her, I'll ask her if it's alright for me to give you her mailing address. Or I'll just ask her to contact you (since this probably sounds a little crazy) herself.
